While a convincing 32-0 win over the Parkes Boars wrapped up top spot with three rounds remaining in the New Holland Agriculture Cup, Saturday also saw the club hold its annual Beat the Breakdown fixture.

A yearly event, the day raises funds and also promotes conversation around mental health.

A massive $14,000 was raised at Cale Oval, smashing the club’s $10,000 target.

That number was matched by an equally impressive $18,000 raised after the match during the auctioning of the jersey, once again showing the incredible generosity of the Narromine and rugby communities.

It was an action-packed occasion on and off the field, with the five brave souls who walked from Warren to Narromine in order to raise money, arriving at half time to rapturous applause.

The walkers were certainly sore and sorry, with reports from the ground stating many of them were hobbling into the ground like a second grader with a bad case of gout.

In the match itself, Tim Allworth, Billy Browning, George Hancock, Charlie Tuck, Tim Gainsford, Luke Brown all scored tries.

Narromine plays at Blayney this weekend.
