Bred by hometown trainer Parsons, the three-year-old son of Haradasun and Danagall will debut in the Beecher Wool Services Maiden Handicap (950m) following a promising trial at the Cowra track on June 23.
“It’s his first start he’s only had a trial so he should improve from that. He does seem to do everything right,” Parsons said.
Parsons is encouraged by Here And Now drawing barrier two and hopes jockey Jake Pracey-Holmes can get him to the front early.
“From the alley we have hopefully we’re in a forward position especially over the 950m. Hopefully we get away good and be thereabouts,” Parsons said.
“It was a nice trial, he ran third. He should improve but it’s his first start. I hope he runs a nice race.”
He said he had no grand plans just yet with Here And Now.
“We’ll see how he goes and then we’ll work out what will happen after Saturday.”
Dubbo trainer Justin Stanley will also contest the maiden sprint event, with Silent Oath looking for a first placing in his sixth start.
The gelding is third up from an incredible two-year spell but has struggled for form, having run ninth and 12th in the two runs back.
Stanley will also have Party Bag in action at Saturday’s meeting, one which has a strong presence of hometown chances.
Cowra’s Andrew Molloy has Lankan Connection and Denmix set to start and both are looking for a change of fortunes at their home track.
“Lankan Connection had his career best run fresh at Cowra last preparation. It’s similar circumstances here he’s first up from a spell,” Molloy said.
“Denmix is a mare with some ability. We’re hoping to recapture some form.”
Cowra jockey Eleanor Webster-Hawes links with Denmix in the Cowra Community Chest Class 2 Handicap (1375m).
She’s booked to have another ride on the day on the Dennis Bush-trained Star Catcher in the Jamieson’s Joinery Maiden Plate (1200m).
There’s six races on the program at Cowra on Saturday afternoon with racing beginning from 12.48pm with the Cowra Rotary Club CG&E Benchmark 50 Handicap (1100m).
