The Henderson Hall at Macquarie Anglican Grammar School in West Dubbo has been occupied by lovable creatures since the cast for Shrek The Musical JR was announced more than six months ago.
Students from year 1 to year 12 have been rehearsing for the show on Friday, August 3, and Saturday, August 4.
The school’s drama teacher Julia Marshall has been impressed by their commitment.
“Students have been preparing since the cast was finalised in term four of 2017,” she said.
“We have some fantastic talent at Macquarie and the students are looking forward to delivering an engaging and exciting performance for our audiences.
“The musical is a fantastic opportunity for students across our whole school community to develop their skills and talents. It is very rewarding to see all their hard work coming together.”
Headmaster Craig Mansour reports of a friendly atmosphere.
“It is wonderful to see students from Year 1 through to Year 12 enjoying each other’s company while working together to polish their skills in time for the term three performances,” he said.
Shrek The Musical JR is described as an “irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family”. Tickets can be purchased at 123tix.com.au.
