The boy from Albert released his hugely anticipated fourth album, ‘Jason Owen Sings John Denver: the 20th Anniversary’, in 2017.
Straight after the release he hit the road for a run of shows to perform the John Denver classics, which included playing at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC).

This August Jason is bringing the tour back to the City to play at the Dubbo RSL.
“I’m really looking forward to coming back to Dubbo,” Jason told the Daily Liberal.
“I’m hoping to see everyone come out. It’s going to be a great night and I’ll be singing songs that everyone loves and enjoys.”
Story continues after competition
Jason said the response from the 2017 John Denver tour had been “amazing”.
He even played to a sell out show at the Sydney Opera House.
“I didn’t expect that,” Jason said of the Sydney gig.
And playing at the Dubbo RSL on Saturday, August 11 was also going to be great, with the show exactly the same as the performance at the DRTCC.
Catching up with his loved ones was also high on Jason’s list when he makes his way back out to the central west.
“That Dubbo show will be the last for that weekend so hopefully I’ll be able to catch up with family and friends,” he said.
Jason has been very busy these last few months, but was excited to announce that on August, 3, he will be releasing a brand new single, which he described as a “modern ballad” that fans of all ages will enjoy.
“I think sometimes with my younger fans they don’t really know a lot of the John Denver songs... so you’ve got to record something that both the older and younger demographic can enjoy,” he said.
I’m hoping to see everyone come out. It’s going to be a great night and I’ll be singing songs that everyone loves and enjoys.

Jason said as a musician you always have to be careful with the decisions you make.
“The last thing fans would want is for me to release a RnB hit off the back of a John Denver album,” he laughed.
“But ultimately if the song doesn’t connect with you (as an artist) then it’s not going to connect with the fans.”
