The Rotary Club of Dubbo West has put money aside for the planned Western Cancer Centre at Dubbo Hospital.

Outgoing president Nicole Shanks said $10,000 raised at an event involving former National Rugby League player Tommy Raudonikis OAM and a donation of $1000 from the Girls’ Academy at Dubbo College Delroy Campus would be donated to the facility.

“It will be held in trust until they require it for any resources they need,” Mrs Shanks said.
In 2017/2018 the club raised about $60,000 for more than 15 international and community causes.
Some of the beneficiaries of the club’s fundraising attended its 46th annual changeover this month including the Smith Family which received $1200 to buy educational resources for children.
The club, which lobbied for the integrated cancer centre, has welcomed new president Pam Sharkey.
