A lot of the Dubbo Demons’ recent success could be put down to the boot of Bevan Charlton-White but the in-form forward insists the whole side is starting to peak at the right time.

After a battling start to the season and just one win in the first five games, the Demons made it back-to-back wins on the weekend when downing the Bathurst Bushranger Outlaws.
The 30-point victory sees the Demons move level with the fourth-placed Outlaws and ensure the finals race is well and truly alive.
“It keeps us in touch. We’re just behind on percentages now,” Charlton-White said after booting a stunning seven majors in the 14.9.93 to 9.9.63 victory.
“We needed a scalp, too. Our two wins had come over Parkes and with no disrespect to them, we wanted to beat someone above us.”
While there’s no coincidence about the fact the consecutive wins were recorded since Charlton-White was moved from midfield to centre-half forward, there has been improvement across the squad.
Bigger numbers at training regularly has been hailed as the main reason the Demons have been getting back to their best while there’s also been similar lineups fielded in each of the last few games.
“Things have just clicked a bit more,” Charlton-White said.
“We’ve been getting more at training and less changes. There’s just been a bit more consistency.”
Charlton-White’s swag of goals followed on from the six he kicked a week earlier against the last-placed Parkes Panthers.
He was the standout up front for the Demons on Saturday, while Joey Hedger and Tom Budd chimed in with two goals each in the vital win over Outlaws.
“They (Outlaws) came out and kicked the first two goals and before we probably would have gone into our shells and rolled over but we kicked the next three and never looked back,” Charlton-White said, before sapeaking about his own game.
“I seem to be taking some catches and kicking some goals so it’s going well.
“The boys are certainly looking after me, it all comes from them. If you’ve got delivery that’s decent and often then it makes it that bit easier for the forwards.”
There were a few injuries to come out of the game, Russell Spicer and Malachi Dutschke among those who received knocks, and they will be in doubt for next Saturday’s trip to Bathurst and clash with the ladder-leading Bushranger Rebels.
“That’s our next challenge, beating teams away from home,” Charlton-White said.
