Parkes Elvis Festival's NSW TrainLink Elvis Express has been named the top one-of-a-kind rail journey across the globe.
Website escape.com.au has revealed the nine top train trips that offer travelers a unique experience, with the non-stop, seven-hour, 365km Elvis Express journey listed as number one.
The TrainLink service was highlighted as a “moving celebration of the life and career of rock'n'roll's beloved KingTM”.
Parkes Elvis Festival Director Cathy Treasure is thrilled with the recognition.
“It's wonderful to have the Elvis Express experience recognised as the most unique train ride,” she said.
“We work year-round with NSW TrainLink to ensure the service offers festival visitors a one-of-a-kind journey.
“We look forward to continuing to offer our festival fans the chance to jump onboard and have a hip-swiveling time as they make the trek to Parkes.”
NSW TrainLink Acting Chief Operating Officer Candice Heine said the recognition of the Elvis Express was testament to the organisation's commitment to major regional events.
“We're very proud to be able to support the Parkes Elvis Festival by offering a unique way to travel to the five-day extravaganza,” she said.
“On the back of the success of the Elvis Express, NSW TrainLink has introduced the Silver City Stiletto to transport customers from Sydney to the Broken Heel Festival in style and comfort.”
The NSW TrainLink Elvis Express will once again form part of the program for the 2019 Parkes Elvis Festival, to be held from January 9-13, 2019.
Tickets for the service will go on sale the day of the festival program launch on Monday, September 10.
