About 1.15am a grey Holden Caprice was travelling along Macquarie Street and struck a tree, police said.
As a result, numerous airbags were deployed.
Police and crews from Dubbo Fire Station attended.
Police are making inquiries about the circumstances surrounding the incident, Inspector Mark Fehon from Orana Mid-Western Police District said.
The vehicle had been towed for examination.
Police are asking for anyone with any information to contact Dubbo Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
The incident occurred in the block of Macquarie Street between Wingewarra and Bultje street.
