The Dubbo Red Cross has been campaigning to make Dubbo a Heart Safe City. The goal is to have a defibrillators installed in Dubbo’s high traffic areas such as the CBD no less than two minutes apart.
The latest donations have come from Matt Hansen Real Estate, Robert Holmes and the Buncha Social Club. They will be installed at the Kevin Hockey Solicitors building in Talbragar Street, the Robert Holmes building and the Railway Hotel.
Red Cross first aid trainer George Chapman said by the end of the month there would be 15 units installed across Dubbo. However nine more units were still needed to cover Macquarie Street, which was the current priority of the campaign.
"lt is fantastic to see the outskirts of Dubbo covered. I hadn't envisaged we would be able to achieve this and to have a unit installed on Boothenba Road is such a benefit for the people of Dubbo," Mr Chapman said.
A green and white ‘AED on site’ sign will be on the buildings with units.
