Money raised helps provide your local community with aid and support to sick children and their families in times of need.
“Each year, Macquarie puts on a pancake breakfast for our students, parents, friends and staff to raise money for the Dubbo Base Hospital Maternity and Children’s Wards,” said Mr Craig Mansour, Headmaster of Macquarie Anglican Grammar School.
“Our school has been supporting the Give Me 5 charity for over five years, raising $1200 in 2017 alone,” he said.
The charity began in the mid-'90s as a simple coin drive from the Central Coast region, this annual charity drive has since raised $22.3 million nationally, and benefited over 40 children’s hospital wards.
Early on Monday morning, staff and students will be cooking and selling pancakes for $2 each.
Students will come to school dressed in their best “medical emergency” themed outfits for a gold coin donation.
Each June, our local radio and television networks get behind the cause by holding local fundraising events.
