Run by Family Planning NSW, the course will offer primary and secondary school teachers a chance to boost their teaching strategies.
Family Planning NSW director planning, education and international program Anne Stuart said the teachers would be given practical support to deliver age-appropriate activities.
“The forum will be a chance for local Dubbo teachers to learn practical teaching strategies around sexuality using a range of inclusive strategies and resources as well as hands on activities for the classroom,” Ms Stuart said.
We know that teachers have probably fielded some tricky questions from students so this is the place to bring those questions and figure out how best to answer them going forward.
The sexual health education forum will be held at the Family Planning NSW office in Dubbo on Monday, June 19. It will be run free-of-charge for teachers thanks to funding from NSW Health.
