Shortly after 12pm emergency services were called to the Harry’s Menswear store, with stunned onlookers left to wonder how exactly the accident occurred.
Orana Mid-Western Police District commander Superintendent Peter McKenna said police investigations had commenced but confirmed nobody was injured.
“Police got called down to the scene about 12.20pm or shortly thereafter,” Supt McKenna said.
“At this stage the elderly gentleman driving the car has been taken to hospital for precautionary tests but doesn’t appear to be injured thankfully
“Also, thankfully, nobody in the shop at the time was injured.
“The actual cause of the accident will have to be investigated by speaking to the owner of the car and seeing what he tells us but on face value it would appear that it has been an unfortunate accident where someone has accelerated where they didn’t need to.”
