They may have lost the game, but Dubbo Basketball Association and the Dubbo Rams were winners off the court on Saturday when they hosted their popular Pink Night.
With members of local breast cancer charity the Pink Angels in attendance, the organisation combined sport with community in a project that raised more than $2000.
Prior to tip off in the Waratah League clash between the Rams and Wagga, the future of the sport was on show in the final match of a three-game series between the Rams’ under 12s boys and girls.
The girls claimed series bragging rights, with the 24-23 win giving them a 2-1 overall victory.
Always popular, the emergency services basketball match between local police and ambulance saw the boys and girls in blue come out on top.
And with a big crowd on hand to watch Bart Sykes’ boys in action, there was plenty of support for the Pink Angels throughout the course of the afternoon.
