On Thursday evening the Daily Liberal reported the fact that council had commenced legal action against the airline, which has serviced routes to Brisbane and Melbourne out of the city since 2015.
Council has lodged an application for a winding-up order against JetGo, with the matter to be heard in the Supreme Court next month.

It is believed the issues have arisen over an unpaid debt that has arisen over the calculation of passenger taxes for JetGo using Dubbo Regional Airport..
JetGo boss Paul Brodereck said he believed it was “unfortunate and highly unusual that Dubbo Regional Council has chosen to go down this path, and we would consider it to be ethically inappropriate”.
But Cr Shields said JetGo’s claims contained a number of ‘factual errors’
“Ten councillors all endorsed the course of action,” he said.
“Let me be very clear when I say that this matter has the backing of all councillors, and as such the community can be assured that the issue is being dealt with appropriately.”
