The anonymous winner held one of the 14 division one winning entries in the $20 million Saturday Lotto Superdraw, draw 3841 on May 12.
Each entry took home a division one prize of $1,428,571.43.
The winning entry was not registered to a Players Club card which meant NSW Lotteries officials had no way to contacting the winner and had to wait for them to come forward to confirm the prize.
Late last Friday, the secretive winner made contact to claim their prize, NSW Lotteries reported on Monday.
Exactly how they plan to spend their Saturday Lotto windfall and begin their life as a millionaire will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winner purchased their 24-game QuickPick entry at News at the Mall at Dubbo.
News at the Mall team member Hannah Starr said she was happy the winner had come forward to officially claim their prize.
“It’s great that they have claimed their prize and can start to enjoy their division one win,” she said.
“This is the first Saturday Lotto division one winner we’ve sold in the store so we are thrilled.”
The six winning numbers in Saturday Lotto on Saturday 12 May 2018 were 12, 17, 38, 31, 6 and 14. The supplementary numbers were 34 and 32.
Across Australia there were 14 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3841 – seven from Victoria, three from New South Wales, and one each from Queensland, South Australia, the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
Of the 14 division one winning entries, four were held by syndicates.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 384 so far this financial year, including 112 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
