MACQUARIE REGIONAL LIBRARY
Library and Information Week is a chance for everyone to discover the many resources and services available for free from your library, it is also an opportunity to celebrate with a week of freeand fun events and competitions for all ages.
Find yourself in the library from 10am Monday May 21 for a free morning tea, all are welcome. Mingle with the friendly librarians and take a library tour, you will find out everything you need to know about your library.
On Tuesday discover how to find local and family history information online with a wealth of resources at your fingertips. On Wednesday at 11.00am join in the fun of National Simultaneous Story time as we share ‘Hickory Dickory Dash’ by Tony Wilson read by a special guest presenter.
On Thursday come in and bring your device for hands on tech help, whether it’s how to access the library’s e-books, e-audiobooks or e-magazines or to learn the basics of using your device.
Rounding out the week, Friday 25 is games day, challenge your family and friends to games new and old, play the giant chess set, complete puzzles or try a Lego building challenge. All week you can enter the jelly bean guessing competition and the Winter Reading Program Book Bingo activities until 30th June for the chance to win prizes. There really is something for everyone and plenty of reasons to love your library.
Talk with Orana Law Society
Bring your lunch and join us at the library and on Thursday 31st May 12.30 – 1.30pm or a lunchtime talk with Andrew Boog, Solicitor, president of the Orana Law Society and council member of the Law society of NSW. Hear Andrew talk about major legal issues affecting rural and regional Australia today which are of concern to the community and to the legal profession, including access to justice. Tea and coffee is provided, bookings are essential as places are limited, please call the library on 6801 4510 to secure your place.
