Dubbo CYMS are the outright leaders of Group 11 after a 40-12 victory against Forbes, while 2018’s big improvers Wellington had their first loss.

The Fishies made it three in a row with their comfortable victory but the Cowboys were brought back to Earth after a high-flying start to the year.

Wellington had attracted plenty of attention with a string of high-profile recruits including and after starting the season with big wins over Nyngan and Westside.

Parkes was their biggest test so far and the Spacemen were able to come away with a five tries to four win, 28-24, at Kennard Park.

Macquarie not only got a win against Narromine, but to celebrate mother’s day, wore pink socks and raised $1132 for the McGrath Foundation.

The results mean CYMS are alone at the top of the Group 11 ladder on six points, followed by Wellington, Macquarie and Parkes on four.

Nyngan, Forbes and Westside all have two points after starting the season one from three, while Narromine sit alone at the bottom of the table without a win.

Wellington will have a chance to test themselves when they travel to Apex Park on Sunday to meet CYMS in what promises to be a blockbuster game.

In other matches, Westside and Macquarie meet in a local derby at No.1 Oval while Parkes host Nyngan and the Jets will travel to Forbes, where they are looking for their first win of the year.
