Marathon Health and headspace Dubbo are running the workshops which kick off on Wednesday, May 9, with a focus on body image.
The workshops will also teach participants cooking skills, how to navigate a supermarket, how to feed the brain and the importance of self-love.
They have been prompted by last Sunday’s International No Diet Day, launched in 1992 by anorexia nervosa survivor Mary Evans.
“We want to help young people develop life-long healthy eating and lifestyle habits, and to feel positive about the way they look and feel,” said Marathon Health dietitian Rachelle Lee.
Colleague Elizabeth Brown is telling youth that “weight shouldn’t determine someone’s self-worth”.
The workshops are open to young people aged 12 to 25 years.
