A week after sacking Gombau, the fallout from failing to make the A-League finals continued as the Wanderers announced the exit of the key playing trio.
Central defender Thwaite had always planned to return to his family on the Gold Coast, having found the commute difficult.
But marquee Cejudo has had an erratic first season, with two goals and four assists from his 21 games despite moments of real brightness.
Left-back Clisby, who has been thrown into multiple positions this campaign, leaves after 45 games for the club.
"I think it has been the best part of my career. I really developed as a player coming to this club," Clisby said.
"I look back at my experience at the Wanderers and it has only been positives."
Further player announcements will come once Gombau's successor is installed, with veteran striker Brendon Santalab among those awaiting news on their future.
Raul Llorente is another, though the Spanish left-back is believed to have triggered a one-year extension in his contract.
Loan signing Chris Ikonomidis will return to Lazio after lighting up the league with his attacking wizardry, while the signings of Tarek Elrich, Ruon Tongyik and Bruce Kamau are expected to be announced at any time.
