Inspector Mark Dixon said it was a “nice” result “on such a remarkable and historic day for Australia”.
It’s hoped the good behaviour will continue on Saturday, when about 4000 people are set to converge on Lazy River Estate for the Red Hot Summer Tour.
Inspector Dixon urged show-goers to enjoy the event safely and responsibly, and make sure they “always have a plan B”.
“The Red Hot Summer Tour is always a good event,” he said.
“It tends to attract an older audience, however being of age does not prevent people from over-indulging so we would always encourage people to enjoy the event responsibly.
“If they’re going to partake in the consumption of alcoholic beverages that they don’t overdo it.”
Gates open at 1pm, with shuttle buses running from West, East and South Dubbo and the CBD.
