Christopher Lee Jackson, 32, fronted Magistrate Gary Wilson in Dubbo Local Court after allegedly being caught in possession of drugs and an electronic stun device when he was searched at a Cobra Street motel on Sunday afternoon.
He was charged with possess prohibited drug, possess prohibited weapon without permit and also called up on two warrant matters.
A police statement tendered to the court indicated the drug in question was Suboxone Buprenorphine, often used to treat opioid addictions.
Mr Jackson applied for bail, with his solicitor submitting that her client suffered from depression and panic attacks.
But Magistrate Wilson cited the defendant’s lengthy criminal history, the serious nature of the offence and Mr Jackson’s history of non-compliance as reasons for refusing bail.
He ordered that Mr Jackson re-appear before the court again on Monday, April 30.
