The Gorillas and Rams secured last year’s GrainCorp Cup Northern and Southern Division titles, respectively, and before Saturday sat first and second on Central West Rugby Union’s new second tier ladder after two rounds.
But the Gorillas made short work of their southern rivals, unphased by the 200-kilometre road trip to produce a 29-5 drubbing at Blayney’s King George Oval.
Michael Harris put on a masterclass with three tries, while Tim Allworth and Jono Sharkey also crossed for five-pointers.
A try from Adam Hamilton was Blayney’s only response.
The win continues Narromine’s unbeaten start to 2018 after similarly convincing wins over Mudgee (33-0) and Parkes (31-10).
In the competition’s other game of the weekend, Parkes Boars defeated Mudgee Wombats 47-15.
The results see Narromine cement their place at the top of the ladder, with Parkes jumping to second place ahead of the Dubbo Rhinos on for and against. Blayney fell to fourth, just one point ahead of CSU Bathurst, with Mudgee, who are yet to win a game in 2018, left languishing at the bottom of the table.
