Paul Braddon’s Falcon’s Fury started $1.90 favourite in heat one of the 516 metre feature. Jumping from box seven the Fabregas x Janderra's Fury dog went straight to the front and won in a blistering 29.52 seconds (4.58, 15.14, 14.38) ahead of Spring Jazz (2.25 lengths) with Big Daddy Bee 6.25 lengths behind in third.
The second heat looked set to be slower as Little Digger ($1.90 favourite) clocked 4.72 seconds in the first section. But the Raymond Smith-trained dog had more in the tank and finished quickly (14.17 final section) to win in 29.52, ahead of Dolly Street and Ferrero Miss.
Midnight Treat and Bogan Doonie will also start in Friday’s final.
Starters have also been released for Friday’s P & B Miller Memorial (516m).
Dennis Barnes’ Nangar Gift ($3.40) was the fastest finisher in the heats, clocking 29.86 to win heat three 4.25 lengths ahead of Velocity Liberty ($3.10).
Paul Braddon’s Metallic Flash ($12) was too fast for Caitlyn Keeping ($2.60) in heat two, the latter leading out of the box and holding on until the turn when the former edged ahead and ran away to a commanding 5.25 length win.
In heat one, Midnight Scarlet ($4.60) and Bogan Villa ($45.30) trading the lead throughout the race before Zipping Kretch ($5.10) surged into contention. He held the lead around the home turn, but Midnight Scarlet was the faster finisher, winning by a head in 30.07.
