Andrew McDonald from Andrew McDonald Commercial Dubbo has listed the seven-hectare property that he described as an “outstanding business opportunity”.
Chamberlains SBR were appointed as receivers on April 3, seizing control of the premises from the owners and ceasing all activity, leaving some people who had booked weddings out of pocket and without a venue.
Mr McDonald said the instruction from receivers was to secure as high a price as possible but said it was too early to suggest a figure.
“It’s a fairly unique property and not the sort we see come onto the market too often,” the agent said.
“It has the conference and function facilities, two bars, a restaurants and also 14 luxury tents and the potential for future growth with council approval for up to a total of 31 tents.
“It’s a very impressive facility and something Dubbo can be very proud of.”
Mr McDonald said the property was ready for someone to step in and begin running it. It was first listed on the weekend and there had already been interest.
“We are anticipating quality rather than quantity when it comes to interest. We may not get run off our feet with 50 or 60 enquiries but we have already had a good number of approaches.
“Because of the nature of the property, we are also casting a wide net across Australia to see if there are people further afield who would be interested.”
Mr McDonald said he was confident the property would sell on auction day but the receivers would have a reserve that would have to be met.
The auction will take place at the conference room at Quest Dubbo, on Thursday, May 24 at 11am
