Forty riders tackled the 60km course, which was run in testing conditions as persistent winds of close to 40km/hour made the undulating course even tougher, with Brook (+21.30 minute handicap) taking maximum points in the event over Sarah Gordon (+21.30 minutes), Rod Mildner (+37 minutes), Vaughn Eather (+43 minutes) and Craig Lennox (+43 minutes) whom finished second to fifth.
Darrell Wheeler (+43 minutes), Kurt Eather (+55.30 minutes), Chris Couper (+55.30 minutes), Tim Hines (+55.30 minutes), Simone Grounds (+47 minutes), Mick Ticehurst (+55.30 minutes), Julia Mannix (+21.30 minutes), Helen Hines (+0 minutes), Haylee Fuller (+43 minutes) and Mick Cooper (+47 minutes) finished sixth through to 15threspectively.
Kurt Eather recorded the fastest time for the 60km event with one hour 32 minutes 41.096 seconds (average speed 38.84km/hour), while Simone Grounds was the fastest female with a time of one hour 41 minutes 22.591 seconds (average speed 35.51km/hour).
Dash Aubusson-Foley claimed victory in the second round of the Dubbo City Toyota Junior Road Racing Series on Sunday, taking out the four lap handicap event on the Sheraton Road course over Imogen Fuller, Joe O’Brien, Makayla Fuller, Georgia Farr, Isabelle Russell and Tom Williamson.
Joe O’Brien recorded the fastest time 32 minutes 47 seconds (average speed 25.62km/hour), as Imogen Fuller was the fastest female on the course with a time of 33 minutes 19 seconds at an average speed of 25.21km/hour.
Dubbo Cycle Club will have a healthy representation at this weekend’s Bathurst Cycling Festival, with a number of riders contesting the Bathurst Criterium events in the city’s CBD and NSW Hill Climb Championships at Mount Panorama on Saturday, while on Sunday many riders will take part in the hugely popular Blayney to Bathurst sportif, which is run over two distances – 70km and 100km.
The next round of the Dubbo City Toyota Road Racing Series will take place on Saturday, May 5 with a 24km handicap on the tough North Geurie course, while the Junior Road Racing Series continues in May 6 on the Sheraton Road course.
