The Dubbo Show will start on Friday, May 11 and run until Sunday, May 13.
This year, the money raised from the show entry will go to Lifeline Central West, president Chris Edwards said. The show had a close association with Lifeline Central West CEO Alex Ferguson, Mr Edwards said.
Former NSW opposition leader John Brogden will officially open the show on the Saturday at 3pm.

Mr Edwards said one of the biggest concerns at the moment was the lack of rain across the region and the affect it would have on the livestock entries.
“I don’t know if the dry weather will affect us. We’re very dry at the moment. We’ve just been the the Hunter Valley and it’s really green and looks very nice. Even Dunedoo is looking nice. It’s us and all in the Tablelands missing out. It’s terrible in Orange and right down south,” he said.
The show would also clash with Beef Australia 2018, Mr Edwards said, which was a huge cattle expo in Rockhampton. However, the show president said he was confident Dubbo would still do alright.
“The sheep are looking good we’ve got one of the biggest sheep shows in NSW which is really good. Shearing is looking good,” Mr Edwards said.
“The Harness Racing on Friday will be one of the biggest meetings of the year and having it at the show is good because the Sky channel goes all over Australia and all over the world really and you can see the sideshows and the lights flashing in the background.”
As always there will be fireworks, the DMAX utes and plenty of rides on offer.
“Being one of the bigger shows we get the best rides. After here a lot of them go to Queensland and do the Queensland run. We’re lucky to get that,” Mr Edwards said.
The planning for the 2018 Dubbo Show has taken 12 months and next week the committee will start getting the pavillions and grounds ready.
The show president said he wanted to thank all of the sponsors involved in the Dubbo Show as well as Dubbo Regional Council.
“We have a really good relationship with the council. Peter Reynolds and his staff do a really good job,” he said.
The Dubbo Show Ball will be held on May 5 at the Roy Clarke Pavillion at the Dubbo Showground. There will be a three course meal as well as the presentation of the 2018 showgirl entrants and rural achiever entrants.
