Racing participants from all over the western region are expected to converge on Dubbo in the coming weeks for the latest Racing Mates Morning Tea ‘Get-Together’.

Racing Mates is a peer-support initiative established by Racing NSW in 2016 and Pat Webster, a leading trainer, one of the main ambassadors.
The first get-together for the year was held at Tamworth in February and Webster hailed that one as a “great success”.
The Dubbo edition will be held at the track on May 7, with the goal to again empower mates to look out for mates.
“We bring members of the racing community together over a cuppa and some morning tea to have a chat, and, that’s what it’s all about – lending your ear to others to discuss any problems they may be having,” Webster told Racing NSW.
“There is nothing better than talking to someone who understands where you’re coming from.”
Effective support offered from peers and colleagues can aid significantly in coping with stress and difficult situations. People are often more likely to initially reach out to a trusted peer or colleague for support when in need.
The Dubbo morning tea will be held from 10am on May and 7 and it coincides with the club’s ‘Lifeline Boys Day Out’ race meeting which will be held the previous day.
The special race meeting recognises men’s mental health issues, and is proudly supported by Racing Mates, along with Black Dog, Blue Elephant, Headspace, Men of League and Lifeline.
