Around 5000 people attended this year’s festival which for the first time featured Chinese Dragon Dancers from Canberra, as well as what has been labelled the festival’s best parade effort on record.
Stuart Town Advancement Association (STAA) president Marcus Hanney said the event continues to grow, putting its success down to a combination of good timing and its unique attraction.
“I wish I could hit the nail on the head...” he said.
“I think people enjoy coming out and seeing such a big event in such a small, historic little village and I think that’s the uniqueness about it.
“It brings so many people to town, is a great weekend and ticks all the right boxes.”
The event’s success is a testament to the small, hard-working STAA who have now turned their focus to next year’s festival to be held on April 20, 2019.
