The Newtown White man caused havoc with the ball, taking 5/28 from eight overs and firing his side through to next weekend’s decider against clubmates, Newtown Black.
Sutton’s spell saw Colts Red bowled out for 115 in reply to the Tigers’ total of 149.
Earlier, Colts had won the toss and opted to bowl at No. 3 Oval after a season which had largely been played on synthetic pitches.
Newtown White made a strong start with Chris Newbold (32) and Chris Beatty (20) helping the Tigers reach 1/67 at one stage.
Tom Skinner (23) and Dean Lake (10) also got starts but at 5/98 it was Colts who were on top, thanks largely to the efforts of Irfan Sagri (3/29)
And while Peter Morrison (21) and Tim Beckanham (16) kept things ticking over, new ball bowler Corey Ashby came back into the attack and took three late wickets to help dismiss the Tigers for 149.
After Liam Hartnett (¼ from four) removed the in-form Pat Cuskelly (0) early in the run chase, Nick Crawford (13) fell soon after.
Garry Ashford (25) and Glenn Armstrong (25) rebuilt the innings but when Sutton removed the former, the Tigers started to get on a roll.
Ty Webb (3/27) did a fine job when bowling with Sutton. He knocked over Armstrong and the Sutton did the rest.
Colts lost its last seven wickets for 30 runs.
The result is a disappointing end to the season for Colts after the side sat top of the ladder for the bulk of the summer, only to fall to second after a loss in the final round.
