Seth Wilson was born at 3.20am on Monday, the first baby delivered at Dubbo Hospital in 2018.
It’s a claim to fame but not one he was making a fuss about, content in the arms of his parents, Nioka and Daniel Wilson.
Siblings Isaiah, 11, and nine-year-old twins Savannah and Chyanne had been counting the days to the arrival of their new brother.
They were unanimous in proclaiming him “awesome”.
Mr Wilson earlier predicted the birth date despite a due date of January 4.
“My husband said all along ever since we found out the due date, that he was either going to be born on the last day of the year or the first day of the year,” Mrs Wilson said.
“And he was right, he was born on the first day of the year.”
George Arthur Howard-Allison was the next baby born at Dubbo Hospital, arriving at 9.17am. He is a son for Karen Howard and Will Peters-Allison of Dunedoo and brother of Xander, 5.
