The Plan B Regional Bash finals series will be a replay of last season after the Northern Rivers Rock claimed the final ticket to the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday.
The Rock, which was defeated by the Orana Outlaws in last season’s grand final at the SCG, dominated the Coffs Harbour Pool - Sixers Conference, thanks largely in part to the efforts of Caleb Ziebell.
NSW Country representative Ziebell smashed 128 off 64 balls, a knock including seven fours and 10 sixes, in the final match of the carnival to send his side into a semi-final against the Newcastle Blasters.
The Jason Ryan-coached Outlaws will meet the Wagga Wagga Sloggers in the other semi.
“I think the experience (of playing at the SCG) of the last two years will help us but in saying that it’s the exact same four and they’ve all had other games this season,” Ryan said of his outfit.
“With it being the final four we know what we’re up against … but it’s Twnety20 cricket and anything can happen.”
The Outlaws are yet to play this summer after the Thunder Conference carnival was washed out last month.
Ryan felt the Northern Rivers Rock was the biggest threat to the Outlaws’ title.
