The annual Ulysses Toy Run will take place on Saturday, December 9, with countless bikes making the run to hand the toys over to the Salvation Army, before the riders continue on their way to Narromine.

Organisers are hopeful of getting as many riders as possible involved

“It’s the time of year when everyone is eagerly anticipating their Christmas celebrations and catching up with family and friends,” Dubbo and Western Plains Ulysses branch president Jennifer Humphries said.

“For those of us in the Ulysses Club and wider motorcycling community it’s also an opportunity to help others to make this happen by donating toys to The Salvation Army for distribution to local families.

“Our annual Toy Run is on again and we would like to invite as many people as possible to participate in this fun event with us.

“To participate in the parade you will need a roadworthy and registered motorcycle, and of course a motorcycle licence, a gold coin donation and a toy or two.”

Organisers are also running a raffle, with tickets costing $2 each or 3 for $5, with a range of prizes to be drawn after a short social ride to Narromine Golf Club, and a barbecue lunch will be available for purchase if you are feeling a little hungry.

“Even if you don’t have a motorcycle, come along to the information centre or the Church Street Rotunda where you can donate a Toy, a few dollars or just watch the parade,” Ms Humphries said.

“Proceeds from funds raised, gold coin donation and raffle, will be donated to The Salvation Army and the Dubbo Rescue Squad.

Those people interested are asked to assemble at the Visitors Information Centre Car Park from 9am for a 10am start.

The parade will conclude at the Church Street rotunda, where the riders will hand over the toys, then ride out to Narromine Golf Club.
