Trained at Dubbo by Allan Gibson, Cowboys Karma heads to Warren on a stellar run with wins recorded in his past four starts.
Gibson has been delighted by the run of form after the now six-year-old had failed to hit any great heights in previous preparations.
But some change in work and gear has worked wonders and Cowboys Karma will be out to keep the run going in Sunday’s feature event.
Working in Cowboys Karma’s favour is the fact he’ll be down in weight on Sunday but there will be some fierce competition.
Tamworth-based Rodney Northam will have Coonabarabran Cup winner Red Knot going from barrier three while Cessnock trainer Dean Jackson will also make the trip to Warren.
He will have Annandale Miss carrying the top weight of 61kg while Hawkesbury training duo Tara and Philippe Vigouroux will have country feature specialist Uncle Sugar from barrier five and they’re also bringing apprentice Claire Nutman with them.
Gibson’s fellow Dubbo trainers Dar Lunn, Brian Young and Peter Reynolds will saddle up Basic Strategy, Blitzabeiter and Drummed Out respectively.
Justin Stanley has Something Borrowed accepted but he’s also accepted for Saturday’s $100,000 TAB.com.au Handicap (2400m) at Rosehill with the nine-year-old.
Sunday’s eight-race program at Warren starts at 1.40pm with the Cotton Cup at 5.10pm.
