After being dismissed without scoring on day one of the Cricket Australia Under 17s National Championships, Larance came in at number three for the Cricket Australia XI (CA XI) on Tuesday and made his intent clear early.
“It was good to actually hit the ball,” he said.
“I was really nervous actually. I didn’t get to hit on the day before so I wanted to feel bat on ball and I got a rank half-volley first ball that I hit for four over cover.”

Larance went on to make 60 from 45 balls, hitting five fours and a six in the process.
The Dubbo youngster helped the CA XI post 271 and then the rising stars ripped through the Tasmanian batting lineup.
“It’s a good challenge and good to play against kids who are older,” Larance said of the Championships.
“It’s much harder than the last (under 16s) competition we played but we’re playing really well as a team.”
- More on Larance and an exclusive story with former Australian test cricketer and CA XI coach Ryan Harris will appear on the Daily Liberal website on Wednesday.
