Work began on the site in July.
“The renewal of the skate park includes the replacement of the steel ramps with purposed-designed concrete ramps and a new steel railing system,” project manager Ben Pilon said.
“This work was done as part of council’s 20-year Asset maintenance and Replacement Plan,”
“This is a great improvement on an already fantastic facility which has created a cohesive look and feel for the precinct and will allow for an increase in skill-based skating activities.
“The local skating community assisted greatly during the consultation period for this renewal helping to develop a great plan for the facility.”
“The renewal will be completed by Friday, 11 August and council will be hosting an opening event so the community can see the work that has been done.”
“There will be a free barbecue and water from 4pm to 6pm which will give the local skaters a great opportunity to come down to the Skate Park and try out the new ramps.”
