Nominating in her home ward of Dubbo North, Mrs Diffey believes it is important to stand for the ward in which you live, not the ward that gives you the best chance of being elected.
Mrs Diffey said she was born, raised and educated in Dubbo and has runs on the board when it comes to working hard for the community she loves.
”I have always put community interest ahead of self-interest,” Mrs Diffey said.
“I am passionate about the future of Dubbo and if elected in September I will work hard to make sure Dubbo Regional Council truly represents all ratepayers while fighting for the continued prosperity of the entire local government area.”
Jane has been active in the community for many years. She is the current president of Orana Early Childhood Intervention Inc, a community based not for profit service catering for children with disabilities and is also the current President of Dubbo and District Pre-School.
“It has been fantastic to give back to the community that has supported my family and I have very much enjoyed working with Orana Early Childhood Intervention and Dubbo and District Pre-School,” Mrs Diffey said.
Jane is also a current Vice President of the Dubbo Show Society and has recently clocked up 17 years as a member of their committee and the show society more broadly.
Her dedication to this community hasn’t gone unnoticed; Jane was presented a Dubbo Day Award in 2015 and was the NSW governments 2016 Dubbo Electorate Women of the Year Award recipient.
“I believe in this community and made the decision to stand for a position on council so I can work with my fellow ratepayers to make sure the prosperity currently being enjoyed by the region continues long into the future,” Mrs Diffey said.
