Dubbo Regional Council administrator Michael Kneipp welcomed Philippine consul Marford Angelos as guest speaker on Saturday.
“It's the hallmark of Australian society that the people that come to Australia contribute to making Australia strong,” Mr Angeles said.
“It contributes to that strength that they remember their heritage.
“We're from Sydney but we come here to Dubbo because we appreciate how much the Dubbo council supports the Philippino community.”
Vic Avila said it was a celebration of the Philippine community and thanked the council for its support.
But it was also about the Philippine community’s contribution to Dubbo, he said.
