Passengers waited on the ground as the early morning weather conditions impacted multiple domestic and international flights in the capital city.
Three Rex flights were delayed on Thursday morning due to fog in Sydney and Dubbo, a spokeswoman for the airline told the Daily Liberal.
The impact of the fog were delays on these services of between 30 minutes and 1 hour 10 minutes, she said.
Qantaslink’s 8.20am flight from Sydney to Dubbo was cancelled, according to the Sydney Airport website.
The airline’s return morning flight is also listed as cancelled.
Qantalink confirmed it had to cancel its early morning return service from Sydney to Dubbo due to fog.
“Passengers were transferred onto other services operating today,” a spokesman said.
Operations had returned to normal, he said late morning.

People flying between Sydney and Dubbo on Thursday morning have experienced delays, with media reports of early heavy fog shrouding Sydney Airport.
Multiple domestic and international flights were cancelled or delayed, according to the Sydney Airport website.
The departure time for Regional Express’s (Rex) 8.15am flight from Sydney to Dubbo was put back, the website shows.
Dubbo City Regional Airport’s latest online update shows the flight has landed after take-off at 9.25am.
Rex’s 9.45am flight back to Sydney is listed as delayed, with an estimated departure time of 10.30am.
Earlier, Qantaslink’s 8.20am flight from Sydney to Dubbo was cancelled, according to the Sydney Airport website.
The airline’s return morning flight is also listed as cancelled.
