The annual fundraiser for the RSPCA will see pet lovers converge on Ollie Robbins Oval from 10am on Sunday. It’s the first time the event has been held in Dubbo in three years.
Registration will cost $20 per adult and $10 per child on the day – online registration is slightly cheaper – with all funds going to support the work of the Dubbo RSPCA branch.
“The money goes to the branch in town so we can continue our work assisting people with better animal care and animal welfare,” Dubbo branch president Mary Kovac said.
The branch also helps locals going through a hard time, by working with local welfare organisations to provide pet food and veterinary services.
“People love their animals – it doesn’t matter how much you earn,” Ms Kovac said.
“We also have a foster care program here in town for people in the community to foster the pets at the pound.”
The Million Paws Walk will start at Ollie Robbins Oval at 11am and take walkers 2.4 kilometres to Sandy Beach and back. Registration opens at 10am.
The walk will be followed by a barbecue, refreshments and veterinary checks.
