“We should never underestimate the importance of the role played by our emergency services volunteers,” Mr Grant said.
“Our rural and regional emergency services units have to cover enormous ground in responding to incidents, which can pose some really unique challenges for volunteers.”
Barwon MP Kevin Humphries said he was pleased to welcome Mr Grant to Cobar.
“I’m really thrilled the minister has taken the time to visit so many of our local emergency services units during his tour of Barwon,” Mr Humphries said.
“They all do an incredible job in what are often really trying circumstances, and for that we owe them an enormous debt of gratitude.”
