The Trittons will have My Rona Gold and I’m Twice The Delight competing in the two heats of the series, while Amanda Turnbull has What A Curtainraiser and Regal Ashes engaged.
Steve Turnbull will be hoping to qualify Cherry Mahoney, Hey Porsha and Sportygal for the $30,000 Group 3 final, which will be run on Friday, May 26, in conjunction with the opening night of the Dubbo Show.
An interesting runner in Sunday’s heats will be quality former Riverina mare Gotta Bewitched.
The four-year-old is a winner of 12 races from 35 starts, and with 17 minor placings thrown in she has earned close to $80,000 in prizemoney.
Now trained by Gemma Hewitt, Gotta Bewitched will be driven by Mat Rue and will start from barrier nine in the first of the heats.
One mare returning for this year’s series is Miss Rodriguez, which finished third in a heat of last year’s event before going on to finish in the same position in the final as an outsider.
Emma Turnbull will be in the sulky on Sunday as the daughter of Tinted Cloud (USA) endeavours to make it into back-to-back finals.
