It’s been 40 years since the Bee Gees released the Saturday Night Fever album and now the tribute band the Australian Bee Gees, will be bringing their show to the city for a one-night only performance.
This new show will be presented in two parts and feature all of the hits in a nostalgic trip down memory lane in a multimedia concert event.
The Australian Bee Gees have been busting out all of the hits at the Excalibur Night Club in Las Vegas for six years and touring many countries such as Germany.
But on Thursday, May 18, they will be digging out their flares and dusting off their platform shoes to play at the Dubbo Regional Theatre.
When Fairfax Media spoke to performer Michael Clift, who plays Barry Gibb in the tribute show, he said the group had just kicked off the first leg of the tour in Tasmania.
Mr Clift said while they play in many countries around the world, it was important for them to come to Australia and its regional towns, such as Dubbo.
“It’s very important for us (to play in Australia) as that is where the band started,” he said.
“This year the tour features a lot of regional shows… we like to get out to the country. A lot of places don’t always get that sort of entertainment.”
He said as well as playing the slower, love songs in the show they will also be performing the Bee Gee’s dance songs.

“I do like the 60s songs like To Love Somebody ... but I also can’t go past Staying Alive,” Mr Clift said.
Mr Clift said audiences vary according ot which country they happen to be playing in and that it was nice coming back.
“Australian audiences are very laid back,” he said.
“And when we go over to America we fell like we have to really bring our A-game, but they’re very appreciative. And in Germany, despite there being a language barrier, they are very enthusiastic.”
The Australian Bee Gees Show was recently voted Best Tribute Show in Las Vegas by the prestigious Las Vegas Review Journal for 2015 and has made the top 10 in the ‘Overall Best Show’ category, an amazing achievement in Las Vegas.
They were also honoured to receive the coveted Entertainer of the Year award for 2015 at the prestigious Win Win Headliners Bash.
