Shortly after 4pm officers were called to the scene, and early on Friday they returned to further investigate.
But according to Orana Local Area Command duty officer Inspector Dan Skelly the incident wasn’t nearly as mysterious as it first appeared when a photo of an abandoned car crashed into a tree was sent in to the Daily Liberal.
“The evidence given to us is that driver of the vehicle suffered a health episode and the car veered off the road,” he said.
“Luckily the incident happened at low speed and while the car was banged up there were no major injuries.”
Fire and ambulance crews also attended the scene.
