The event, which is held at Busselton, is on Sunday and the flat nature of the course offers all competitors the chance to record some standout times.
Pellow is among those out to impress, with the local product having won the Murray Man event in South Australia last month.
That win was an eye-catching one as he was more than five minutes clear of his nearest rival and showed real determination to keep on going while in front.
With the Busselton event, which does take in the picturesque local jetty, has enjoyed plenty of growth in recent years and the weekend’s field is expected to be one of the best gathered.
There is a rolling start from 5.30am on Sunday, with competitors taking on a 3.8km swim and a 180km bike ride before all finish with a 42.2km run.
