Speaker Tony Smith suspended question time for more than 30 minutes when a chorus of shouts condemning offshore detention came from the public gallery.
Security personnel removed the protesters, several of whom had super-glued their hands to the public gallery rails.
”I’m absolutely disgusted at the actions of the protesters and I believe the full force of the law should be applied to them,” Mr Coulton said.
The protesters – members of the Whistleblowers Activists and Citizens Alliance – said offshore detention represented a "state of emergency" as asylum seekers continued to be abused.
"We are here today because your policies are breaking our hearts, because every day on Manus and Christmas Island is another day in hell," one of the protesters said.
Earlier this month members of the group chained themselves to the roof of Immigration Minister Peter Dutton’s Brisbane office.
