Corben will take over the gloves for Mitchell while Le Lievre is in for the Western Zone Inter-Council clash on the back of strong big-game form.
Chairman of selectors Neil Doherty said: “Matt Corben is in as the wicketkeeper. He kept very well for the Wranglers last year. He gets his chance for Mitchell.”
Doherty said Le Lievre had shown his ability in recent grand finals.
“He has a heap of experience. He’s a good cricketer. He hit hundreds in the last two Orange grand finals.”
Cavaliers captain and gun batsman Richie Venner is the third player from Orange to be selected for the team that includes players from Bathurst and the Blue Mountains.
Mitchell will play Macquarie at the Country Club Oval on October 29 after Wade Park was unavailable.
The next day Mitchell will play the Lachlan team at Cowra.
Bathurst’s Jameel Qureshi will captain the side on the Saturday but is unavailable for the Sunday game. Doherty said Venner would take over as captain for the Sunday game and Bathurst’s Dan Casey would come into the team to replace Qureshi.
Doherty said Macquarie, equipped with a couple of NSW Country representative players, would be a formidable opponent after they narrowly beat Lachlan in the opening game of the series in Dubbo on October 9.
“They will need to be on their game to beat Macquarie. If they play well, they can beat them,” he said.
