Smith was in the middle when his side resumed day two at 3-66 in reply to CYMS’ 172 and his patient 61 was the catalyst behind his side’s victory.
When Smith departed with the score at 7-148 there was still a job to do but some late hitting from Nick Crawford (35) got the men in red over the line.
Cal Braithwaite worked tirelessly with the ball for CYMS and took 3-13.
A 72-run partnership between Matt Haling (56) and Brian McKinnon (45) helped South Dubbo fight back from a nervy situation to defeat Rugby at Lady Cutler 4.
South Dubbo began day two at 3-34 in reply to Rugby’s 151 but McKinnon and Haling took the score to 100 while Toby Morgan (21) helped his side reach the target.
Baye Wallace (3-33) performed admirably for Rugby, who went into bat for a second time and finished the match at 6-91.
Khan duo Waseem and Zain were the toast of Macquarie on Saturday as their final-wicket partnership secured a win over Newtown.
The Blues resumed play at 2-32 in reply to the Tigers’ 135 but Jackson Dawe (3-24) struck twice early to keep Newtown well in the match, while Wayne Dunlop also contributed with 2-42.
Macquarie lost 6-40 at one stage to be in real trouble at 8-91 but Luke Carman (27) kept his side in the match.
Waseem (25 not out) then powered his side to victory while Zain (5 not out) provided vital support.
