Both groups donated $25,000 apiece for the installation of 51 lights along the track from Tamworth Street to Lady Cutler Oval.
Dubbo Stampede Committee treasurer Mark Gardener said it was a real team effort.
"The track is used a lot by the whole community and this will increase the safety and security," Mr Gardner said.
"The Stampede donates quite a lot of funding to community groups and we're proud to sponsor the first stage of the lights.
"We're all about encouraging people to be active, whether they're running, walking, pushing a pram."
Mr Gardner said a lot of the work on the lights has been done at the cost price.
Dubbo mayor Mathew Dickerson said the Tracker Riley Cycleway was already incredibly popular and with the lights it could be utilised 24/7.
"Most of this money has come from people outside of the community so not only are we getting a big injection into the economy when they participate in the events, the money is being put back into our infrastructure," he said.
He said the lights would most benefit people who wanted to exercise in the early mornings and late evening.
Titan Macquarie Mud Run Committee member Rod Fardell said individuals, community groups and businesses could sponsor a light for $500.
He said anyone who was interested should contacted either the Titan Macquarie Mud Run or Dubbo Stampede.
