The Easter festivities were just one of the excuses the team uses to try something different in the building.
Employee Trisha Spalding, said the staff had first started designating specific theme days in 2012, with each donating $5 a month.
The collected funds would be donated to a local charity at the end of the year. “It’s something a little bit different and fun,” she said.
“Anything to get us out of uniform for the day.” The idea first came when RN Cathy Raidaveta joined the team with an idea to lift the morale between both staff and their patients.
“It gives people a reason to smile,” Ms Raidveta said. “Everyone gets involved.”
Ms Raidveta said the cost was minimal to the staff for their monthly outrageous outfits when it came to giving their patients a chance to giggle.
Along with the traditional fundraisers, such as Movember and Pink Ribbon Day, Ms Raidveta said the staff had expanded their theme suggestions, from dressing in colour themes to their favourite book or film character.
