Wellington councillors have appointed Morrison Low, a consultative company, which will work with council staff to complete the Fit for the Future proposal due for submission on June 30.
A council press statement says "The proposal for submission will outline how Wellington Council plans to be Fit for the Future in the long term. The proposal will be assessed by independent experts against independently established criteria.''
Representatives from Morrison Low will be in Wellington to facilitate a workshop with councillors on January 27, where they will discuss the process of preparing the submission to the Office of Local Government on June 30.
The council says Morrison Low has an extensive history working alongside Local Government organisations and is familiar with the New South Wales State Government's Fit for the Future concept. Wellington Council's general manager Michael Tolhurst said "council staff look forward to the collaboration between the two parties and are positive in their approach toward a quality submission in June 2015.'' A spokesperson for Morrison Low said it was policy not to comment on its workings with councils
